This conference is hosted by the Jiangsu Optical Society and hosted by the Thin Film Optical Technology Professional Committee. The conference, with the aim of "strengthening academic exchanges and promoting industry development", gathered over 300 outstanding universities, national defense and military industry, research institutes, and well-known enterprises in the field of optics, especially in the East China region, covering various links of the industrial chain such as optical substrates, target consumables, advanced processes, specialized equipment, and professional instruments.


The experts attending the meeting included Wang Zhanshan, Dean of the Institute of Advanced Technology at Tongji University, Shen Weidong, Professor of the School of Optoelectronics at Zhejiang University, and Wang Jinfeng, Researcher at the Nanjing Institute of Astronomical and Optical Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Gathering Dao to Discuss Sword, Divine Light Leading

After setting up a precision machining production base in Yangzhou, Jiangsu in 2022, Shenguang Group quickly integrated into the Yangtze River Delta industrial circle and was invited to participate in the Jiangsu Provincial Optical Technology Conference for the first time. Cao Haiping, the group's chief scientist and executive vice president of the Innovation Research Institute, gave a keynote speech on "high-power laser and high-end optical synthetic quartz materials".

Dean Cao introduced the development history, positioning, products, and production capacity of Shenguang Group. After more than 20 years, Shenguang has always focused on the research and production of synthetic quartz glass. As the only enterprise in the industry that highly focuses on synthetic quartz glass, it has formed a production capacity layout based on Mianyang in Sichuan and Baise in Guangxi. The planned total production capacity of quartz glass materials is 800 tons/year.

In the report, Director Cao emphasized the following content:

1. Based on the research and development system, we share the technological advantages of Shenguang, including six advanced technologies such as the first vertical single lamp closed deposition multi module integration, ultra precision combustion, and liquid evaporation control in China.

2. Display the progressiveness of Shenguang products with index data: AURA ® The 0511 series of products have been tested by authoritative departments and have reached advanced levels in various performance indicators such as stripe degree, stress birefringence, and optical non-uniformity. Especially, the optical non-uniformity index is the only one in China that can reach 1 × Products within 10 to 6 have a significant advantage in bubble index compared to a well-known American brand.

3. Deeply elaborate on the application of Shenguang products in the laser industry: focusing on the applications in fiber optics, semiconductors, gas lasers, as well as cutting, welding, cladding, cleaning and other fields.

The market is vast, seize the opportunity

According to predictions from relevant authoritative institutions, the laser equipment market in China will recover vitality in 2023, with an expected year-on-year growth of 8% -12% and a production value of 100 billion yuan. Among them, the trend of product technology is towards high-power, ultra fast, and high-power, to meet the production applications in power batteries, automobiles, aviation engines, and consumer electronics, further increasing the dependence on high-quality synthetic quartz glass materials. At present, the domestic high-end quartz glass market is controlled by foreign brands such as Hercules, Corning, and Kohara. Given the inherent demand for cost reduction in the domestic industrial chain and the potential risk of preventing "bottleneck", there is a huge import substitution opportunity for high-end quartz glass materials in China.

At the meeting, Dean Cao's theme report received positive feedback, sparking participants' attention and interest in Shenguang Group's products. The co organizer of the conference, Wu Yutang, General Manager of Nanjing Wavelength Optoelectronics, expressed gratitude to companies such as Shenguang Group for participating in this conference and jointly exploring research achievements and development trends in materials, devices, technology, and applications with renowned experts in the industry. Mr. Wu emphasized that working with partners to firmly pursue the path of import substitution is one of the company's strategies, and working together to build core competitiveness with the advantages of cost and delivery.
